Nearly there, the celebrations have begun - VE Day! The 52nd Lowland Division clicks over into ‘taking care’ mode … although there are still a few pot shots here and there. 🏴PENULTIMATE EPISODE!

OTD 1945 I remember the last two of Peters Jocks to be KIA. Cpl John Parry, 29, Glasgow Pte Percy Byles, 22, London Both killed in an ambush, at Gros Eilstorf woods. The even was written about in the With the Jocks chapter “Ambush” Both are buried at Becklingen cemetery
Over the last couple of years I’ve managed to track down the families of both Parry and Byles, and Pte Norman Grosfils who was wounded in the same ambush. Norman survived and only died in 2015, leaving 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
We haven't slipped, we've moved briefly in line with the newsletter dates. Next edition of The Lowlander is out tomorrow. Stand by...
