Actually, this is the approach I've been taking to teach frontend developers Laravel as part of the @ThetaLabs_io Full-Stack Bootcamp. For some of the participants, Laravel is their first exposure to OOP and server-side coding. Only 1 out of the 5 had even used PHP at all.

I used to think you have to learn PHP before you learn a PHP framework, to truly understand what you're doing. I now think that using a framework to get results fast, is not a bad strategy for a beginner. Fast results works as motivation, they can learn PHP as they go.
For real this is unnaturally exciting to me 😅 I'm so sick of visually hiding native checkboxes with little tricks, trying to cover up the real checkbox with a fake checkbox, and using annoying sibling selectors to make things work.
The most exciting part about an IE 11-free future is being able to create custom checkboxes with super normal HTML and no stupid CSS hacks 😍

To those interested in getting into programming... Before asking "How do I learn how to code?" come up with a more specific goal. What do you want to build? What interests you? What's your end goal? With a more specific "How do I..." question, you'll get more specific answers.
