When you tax something you get less of it. If you tax “wealth” you get less wealth, which means slower growth and an environment that makes it harder for people to accumulate wealth. What sense does it make to remove parts of a cow, instead of taxing the milk that it produces?
I know of NO recession that was caused by the press, emotion or well-wishing. In past 50-60 years every single one was preceded by a tight Fed. The Fed is not tight, today.
