Do you think people know they can do theology whilst thoroughly ignoring Barth?

Last year was fairly good for reading, but I rather spectacularly failed at most of my reading goals. If you want some short opinions on books, or are just nosy/bored: thomascreedy.co.uk/what-i-read-in…

It’s not begun. God is always drawing people to himself. Something is afoot. And right wing social media is just one place amongst many.

🚨BREAKING: Church leaders up and down the UK are reporting MASSIVE surges in attendance across all denominations, "particularly among young people" The revival has officially begun. ✝️🇬🇧

What Sam said. I left London for a bigger house, and to be closer to countryside. I still go back for work most weeks and it’s still a large and fairly international city. Major hazard is Americans and Japanese tourists asking for directions. YMMV

Hugo has a good point here. Some voices on the right are insisting London is a terrible, dangerous place, and a lot of influential voices in US have been parroting it. My personal experience of London has been good, but please ignore that. Look at the DATA instead.

Oh goodness gracious I’ve just seen my unread Twitter DMs. I have an email address. Please use that.

What Daniel says. It’s ok to say that TGC can do good things whilst also saying the current proposal for a UK chapter/version/franchise/iteration is a terrible idea. Professionally, I’ll send review copies basically anywhere. Personally, ‘TGC-UK’ is unnecessary.

And yes, I’m fully aware that I’m now speaking as someone working for a prominent Christian organisation (LST), and that public criticisms like this will cut me off from these groups - dissenters don’t like dissent - but I’ve said all of this many times before

Should clarify - this is an allusion to the census being one reason Joseph and Mary were in Bethlehem. Not just publishing-friendly, but bureaucracy-recognising.

“God chooses paperwork as the doorway into hope” - a beautiful sermon from @marknam

Always good to be at the @SPCKPublishing AGM repping @IVPbookcentre Great to celebrate Eric Thompson, and hear from @SamRichardson__ as ever.
