The big box district where I live is surrounded by apartments and has more parking than it needs…what’s the economic / zoning reason why this isn’t normal? I’m sure there is one (or many) but they aren’t immediately clear to me.

Maybe a hot take, but God I hate truncated terms like #i18n, #i10n, and #a11y. They're like acronyms (famously awful to work with) except even when used in a sentence it's not always clear what the speaker means unless you know the term ahead of time.
