Two more big cases with genealogy site. abcn.ws/2lEB8Pq cnn.it/2yO4vbB. Incredible! With hit rates off the charts, I suspect police have thousands of other cases in mind. Many legal/ethical issues in play. Need national best practices to preserve tool.

DNA databases expansion and funding relies on advocacy. There is not a stronger police tool than DNA. The IACP should get active again

Whatever happened to IACP on DNA databases? This police organization has not been involved in DNA policy or funding for over 15 years

The failure of the Rapid bill to advance in 2016 could delay the FBI's estimated timeline to have Rapid in the booking stations.

The Rapid DNA legislation failed to advance in the USA Congress by the deadline this week. The process starts over with the new congress.

New York Senator introduces familial searching bill for violent crimes. More states are moving in this direction nwsdy.li/2gWwkBf

This increase is the result of a provision that requires a minimum of 75% of the DS money be used on DNA, rather than other forensics

Justice for All Act reauthorization passes US Congress. Provision included that increase Debbie Smith DNA grants by a minimum of $10M
