Keep the purpose of your training in mind. If you're a baseball/basketball player, you don't need to run 5 miles a day. Do sprints instead.

Lifting Myth: Girls who lift will end up really bulky...NOT TRUE. Girls don't have enough testosterone to build that much muscle mass.
The best gains in muscle mass come from high volume, short rest, and moderate intensity. Like 8-10 reps with 90 sec. rest between sets
The best gains in strength come from workouts with high intensity and long rests. For example, 3-5 reps with 4 min. rests between sets.
Everybody should lift weights. Especially women. Lifting will increase bone density and help prevent osteoporosis.
