Lots of “thank the labor movement for your 5 day work week” etc. But not everyone benefits. When the FLSA was passed, domestic workers & farm workers were deliberately excluded. Children can still be employed on farms & farm workers can legally be paid less than min wage.

Tomorrow is the 100 year anniversary of the discovery of insulin. In 1921, insulin’s discoverers sold its patent for $1 so insulin would be affordable to all. Today, a single vial of insulin that lasts me about a week is priced at $300+, only in the United States.
