This route is not in any way shape or form a shared path. No wonder no one rides their bike to the bus station. @AklTransport a little effort here can go a long way.
This is a great question. If we want to improve NZ standard of living we need to move off of land based investments.

A record $17.2b worth of homes valued over $2m sold in NZ in 2021. In 2018, before the foreign buyers ban, 2.5% of house buyers were from a country other than NZ, Aus or Singapore. This would equate to $64m in tax. So not quite the $740m a year National are predicting...
3. Emissions should be plummeting now to avoid billions dead at 2/2.5°C. They should have peaked by now to avoid 2.5/3°C. This is extinction for many or most species given non-climate destruction. And this horrific predicament is described as progress. 🧵
