🐝 Transfer news and opinions.

I’m looking at the table and after yesterday I think Arsenal are favourites to win the Premier League. Currently sitting top, easier upcoming fixtures and arguably the strongest squad. Man City can’t be ruled out. I think they’ll be there or thereabouts. What do you all think?

Ruben Amorim to be sacked by Manchester United if they lose to Sunderland this weekend. Contradictory to reports elsewhere, I have it on good authority the club has already worked on shortlist of replacements and will pull the trigger if results don’t improve immediately. #MUFC

Big thanks to Ruben Amorim for allowing a competition winner to play in goal for United today. 🐝

Robert Sanchez. Top goalkeeper. World champion. Love him. #CFC

‘Champions of the world’ and can’t even beat ‘relegation fodder’ Brentford after we’ve just sold all of our best players and lost our manager. Hilarious club. #CFC

Newcastle eventually had to overpay (that’s just what happens when you’ve received £130million and it’s Deadline Day), but I told you all along Yoane Wissa was #NUFC-bound. Great deal for Brentford to get £10million over initial asking price, and #NUFC get a great goalscorer.

Incredible, that tech designed to minimise errors has, on fact, amplified their biases, incompetence and corruption. The PL must think it gets clicks, but it will lose eyeballs soon enough.

The powers that be need to remember the PL’s a product. It’s sold worldwide for billions because it’s always been the best product. VAR ruins the viewing experience. If people don’t want to watch, the product value diminishes. I find myself, more and more, not wanting to watch.

VAR is an utter DISGRACE. Fulham denied a goal for a perceived stamp on the foot in the build up, but then Chelsea given a penalty despite a stamp on Iwobi’s foot in the build up. It’s the same foul. The penalty is then given for handball, but the ball also hits Pedro’s hand.

I find the notion that Chelsea are getting Alejandro Garnacho “on the cheap” quite strange. I’ve never been blown away by him, but he has also very clearly been problematic behind the scenes at Manchester United. Not the kind of attitude clubs should be looking to recruit. #MUFC

Nick Woltemade is a TOP signing for Newcastle. He’s one of those big men who have attributes a big man should not have. Think Berbatov, Giroud, Zlatan. Elite first touch/technique, but also an absolute unit. Bayern Munich really wanted to sign him. Expensive but worth it. #NUFC

Have it on good authority Ruben Amorim decided Benjamin Sesko would not take a penalty. Coaching staff wanted to ‘protect him’ from missing and negativity that inevitably follows a miss. Obviously as the shootout progressed he had to take one, which ended up looking awful. #MUFC

Ruben Amorim is gone if Manchester United lose against Burnley this weekend. No doubt about it, in my opinion. They can’t keep going on like this. #MUFC

Just when you think Manchester United can’t sink any lower… This is embarrassing. #MUFC

As reported 5 days ago, Newcastle want Jorgen Strand Larsen but would have to pay a fee that is objectively higher than his market value. Two bids rejected at £50/£55million. I think it will take closer to a package of £65million for a deal to be done. Huge money. #NUFC #WWFC

Would take an enormous bid. Unrealistic unless #NUFC willing to objectively overpay.

Mikel Arteta has just confirmed this in his post-match interview. He said Eberechi Eze personally called him to check if there was still a possibility of a move to Arsenal materialising before he moved ahead with the move to Tottenham. #AFC #THFC

My understanding is Eberechi Eze has not signalled a desire to join Tottenham, as reported elsewhere, but he has made it clear he is open to the move if he can’t join Arsenal. #AFC the player’s preference but not currently moving any closer. #THFC pursuing him with more vigour.
