One more with the killer title slide. You inspired a lot of students. Maybe some will make it out to @IslandCampus

New research from my lab: using enzymes to convert tiny molecular assemblies into artificial cell membranes. Fun collaboration with my friend @TreeSoftMatter led by grad student Nick Bair. #realtimechem tinyurl.com/5n6ud9ek

One of my former students, a @BYUChemE PhD grad, was laid off yesterday (not his fault). He is super smart, a hard worker, and good communicator. His latest work was in technical #SoftwareDevelopment. If you have a lead on an open job/postdoc, please send my way.

Reminder: The deadline for abstracts for the AICHE Annual meeting is today (04/08/24) by 11:59 PM EST! Jay Park and I are co-chairing the session on polymer crystallization for @aiche_mesd 08A. If you have any issues with abstract submission, we would be more than happy to help.

The final exam review in my colleague Matt Memmott's materials class was a bit more exciting than usual today. youtube.com/shorts/B0jkvxf…

Excited to share a new article with Jan Garcia and other UCSB folks on some mysteries of coarsening behavior we found. Jan found was that "dynamic asymmetry" in phase separation of polymers is intimately connected to the polymer composition. Check it out! doi.org/10.1063/5.0173…

Anyone interested in a postdoc with Simon Rogers and me at UIUC on memory formation in colloidal suspensions? This collaboration will include simulations and experiments. The Beckman Postdoc Fellowship might be a great opportunity! beckman.illinois.edu/research/fello…

Great opportunity for Livingstone (2nd picture), one of our grad students in ChemE!
