3rd grade at North ended the day with making stop motion videos. It was a great way to relax after the PSSAs.
Happening now at East. 3rd grade has been learning about binary code. Today we made binary bracelets to code the first letter of our names.
Nothing better than practicing our mouse skills while carving virtual pumpkins in our Halloween costumes!
Adaptive tech at North had so much fun today finishing our three part series on BUBBLES! Each child picked a cauldron clipart from the internet and then typed their name. We used a mix of bubble solution and tempra paint to add overflowing bubbles to our pictures.
Today was the 2nd class from our three part series on bubbles. We blew bubbles and paid attention to how to blow a bubble. Then we practiced click and drag skills on our iPads to put the steps in order.
It's Natuonal Digital Citizenship week! Here is Mrs. Gorge's class learning about the Digital Citizenship pledge from Common Sense Media.
I'm working hard to get ready for the first day of school. Here are a couple sneak peeks from my new class at North. There are more things to add and do as it's been a challenge to prepare three new spaces, but I'm excited about how things are coming together.

Carson had an awesome day teaching Kindergarten about coding, helping first grade learn to touch type, and helping 2nd grade with their text formatting and clipart. He also participated in lessons with the older kids.
Third grade is working on their stop motion videos this week. They painted monsters in art with @artwithms_k and are now using Stop Motion Studio to create their animations.
Learned about @birdbraintech this afternoon with @SamiShinsky. I worked with @MyLibraryTASDSW to create and code Rapunzel in her tower. When our hero approaches, Rapunzel waves for help. As the hero gets closer, she calls out an SOS. Excited to use these kits with students!
I took Huff and Ledger's 5th grade rooms for a double class today since I won't see them again until Feb 25. We finished using Scratch to code the Google Doodle.
5th grade couldn't be left out of our winter fun. They completed mystery pics by following algorithms and understanding cells in Google Sheets. (White G6:H8, F9:I21, E14:J20)
Now accepting applications for true love! The cost has nearly doubled from 2013! Thanks 4th grade for learning basic Google Sheets formulas to calculate this for us.
I'm eating up 2nd grade's work! We learned ctrl c for copy and ctrl v for paste to make these Gingerbread scenes. We also learned how to select multiple objects.
Check out these festive 3rd graders! We completed this project as practice for a FID day so students had to watch Mrs. Koppes's video and do the steps with minimal help (she could answer questions but couldn't see or touch student chromebooks).
Brrrr! It's cold outside, but these snowmen made by the Kindergarten classes are heartwarming. The skills we worked on are typing our name, moving clipart, and resizing clipart.
First grade is showing mastery of their drag and drop skills. Students were asked to create 5 pixel art pictures out of 10 choices.
Any guesses as to the cost this year?
Last week, 3rd grade learned about binary code. This week, we made bracelets to represent our first initial in binary and we worked on our computer programming skills with code.org.
