I used to be a full time member of the #DOC. I’m more comfortable remaining anonymous now. It’s been many years since I used twitter to connect with others who have Type 1 #diabetes.
Oh this day, 15 years ago I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Dealt with depression, suicidal thoughts. Having my world flipped over at 18 messed me up. Now I’m here to say, bring it. All of it.
Hoping to gain more followers even though I’m staying as anonymous as I can. Used to be more transparent years ago in the #DOC but looking for support this way. #diabetes #type1
Finally got my 670G with CGM and feeling more comfortable than ever.
Well I received my 670G. Now just waiting for the cgm to come in. It was backordered but it arrives on Tuesday #diabetes
The summer months make it difficult to wear a pump site 🤨
I have the physical and mental scars and they don’t go away. I’ve learned how to cope with them. Some days they do get the better of me but I keep pushing. There has to be a light at the end. There has to be. #dsma
I grew up in an extremely violent home along with a chronic illness. I had parents hurting me and my own self hurting me. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone but it’s made me who I am.
The DOC saved my life 6-7 years ago. I found community and a feeling of being understood for the first time ever. I’ve spent the last 6 years in therapy recovering and rebuilding. #dsma
I felt like no one understands what I’m going through. And I’m mentally tired.
Honestly I’m lonely in the T1 area of my life. I used to be a full timer here and then life got crazy. At the point where it felt like I only had me and no one else understood what I am going through.
No CGM. Pump barely works. And fighting with insurance to get the 670G.
I left the DOC a while ago. But I learned that my control and confidence is much better when there’s support and not feeling alone #dsma
I showed up late for #dsma. I’ve been here before but I’d like to remain as anonymous as I can.
Wow. I remember doing #dsma years and years ago. Tryin to slowly ease back into the online diabetes support, it’s been a long time.
Uh yeah this isn’t inspiring. It’s horrifying.
Jordan Williams is a diabetic without insurance. He can’t afford prescription insulin, so to keep himself healthy he buys bottles of insulin for dogs. That is just one sacrifice Williams makes to be a fighter. He gets a shot at the UFC tonight on #DWCS espn.com/mma/story/_/id…
