We can't go on like this. We need a price cap freeze and a Universal Basic Income so that everybody can afford to heat their homes this winter.
📣 BREAKING: Ofgem has raised the energy price cap, with average bills expected to hit £3,549 per year. In October 2021, the average bill was £1,277. It has risen by 178% since then.

A properly constructed UBI doesnt replace all DWP benefits. It may however return some benefits - such as HB and CTB back to local authorities. Really depends on if you are talking to UBI realists, or UBI purists.😉
Good ideas (like UBI and the NHS) always start as ideas from outside the norm and it takes time, work and organisation to win support and change things. Brexit and Universal Credit are both work of charlatans who trade in lies: it is they who must be defeated.
This pilot is a step in the right direction for bringing #UBI to Wales. Proud that Wales is leading the way. It’s important now that we ensure the pilot is successful and that it meets the ambition of addressing poverty as well as improving health and financial wellbeing.
