Yesterday, UJS hosted a series of meetings with MPs to discuss rising antisemitism on campus. We were joined by Jewish student leaders who shared their local experiences, and outlined the urgent steps needed on a national level, in line with our Stand Against Terror campaign.
Yesterday, Lord Leigh raised the rise in campus antisemitism in the House of Lords, referencing UJS’s Stand Against Terror campaign. We won’t rest in our mission to advocate for Jewish students and enable proud Jewish life on campus.
Professor Ben-Gad has worked at City University for 18 years. Why have “City Action for Palestine” chosen now to dox, intimidate, and allegedly threaten to behead him? Because a culture of impunity has festered for two years, and extremist groups have never been so emboldened ⬇️
Following unacceptable glorification of Hamas atrocities on campus this week, UJS is today launching our “Stand Against Terror” campaign. Read more in @UJS_PRES Louis’s piece in @thetimes below.

Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (“Tommy Robinson”) is no friend to our community.
“Tommy Robinson is a thug who represents the very worst of Britain. His presence undermines those genuinely working to tackle Islamist extremism and foster community cohesion. Minister Chikli has proven himself to be a Diaspora Minister in name only. In our darkest hour, he has…
@UJS_PRES Louis reflecting on the Manchester attack, campus antisemitism and Jewish student resilience on Sky News on Friday.
Update from the UJS team following yesterday’s attacks. We are working around the clock to support our students, and inspired by the Heaton Park community, Jewish student life will persist.
We are horrified by this morning’s antisemitic terrorist attack in Manchester. May the memory of those lost be a blessing, and may our community go from strength to strength in such challenging times.
You have the agency to define your own Jewish student experience. My entire team and I are here to help you write a story of pride, vibrancy and growth, whatever that looks like for you, says @UJS_UK president
My sincerest congratulations to @HolocaustUK on a powerful annual dinner last night. Wonderful to spend time with new Communities Secretary @SteveReedMP, beloved survivors Mala Tribich and Dorit Oliver-Wolff, communal partners like @UJS_PRES @louisdanker and @marievanderzyl.
70 Jewish student leaders joined us for our Year Launch Event in the Houses of Parliament this week. We were so grateful to hear from @sarahsackman MP about her leadership journey, being Jewish in politics, and her stories from Cambridge University Jewish Society!

Thank you @bphillipsonMP for your summer reception this week - it was good to chat about how we can work together with universities to combat campus antisemitism. Looking forward to working closely with you and your team over the coming year.
House of Lords Debate on Campus Antisemitism - May 2025
Jewish students deserve to feel safe and seen. We call on student leaders to show solidarity and take a stand.
We urge all universities and students’ unions to refrain from playing Kanye West at summer balls, SU bars, or any official events. There should be no space for hate on campus in word, in action, or in music.
Universities must be spaces of safety and inclusivity, not platforms for those who justify terror and spread antisemitism. Jewish students at KCL and beyond deserve an unwavering commitment to their security and well-being.
