Happy Thanksgiving, NSCS! Take this time to take a breath and be thankful for everything you have and everything you’ve accomplished. What are some things you’re thankful for this year?
Thanks for sticking around through all of the officer posts! We’re so grateful for everything our officers do and can’t wait to share what’s in store next semester!
And finally... Me! My name is Chloe Martin (she/her) and I am our VP of social media! I’m a junior double-majoring in English and Historic Preservation and in my free time I work at the Writing Center and am a co-music director of Symfonics a cappella group!
“Hi! My name is Remington Van Lieu and I am the Vice President of Events for the UMW Chapter of NSCS. I am currently a sophomore and I am double majoring in English and Sociology. A fun fact about me is that I love music and play drums, guitar, and piano!” More officers to come!
Ulises (he/him) is a senior advisor for our chapter and a biology major! He never knew that he would be involved in so many leadership positions through NSCS and is proud to serve on the board! We’re so glad to have him with us again this year!
Next up in our officer highlights: Denise! “Hi I’m Denise Naughton, Executive Vice President of NSCS. I use (she/her) pronouns and am planning to major in computer science and economics! A fun fact about me is that I just got a Corgi puppy with my boyfriend.”
Welcome back to school, NSCS! The virtual UMW induction ceremony for the 2020-2021 school year is right around the corner! Though it’s going to look different, we are so excited to see all of you on zoom THIS SATURDAY (9/26) at 7pm!
Officer Elections! Here’s what you need to know: -You will send in a blurb outlining why you would be great for the position -You can apply for more than one position! -These blurbs should be emailed to [email protected] by April 17th -Voting will take place from 04/18-04/24
What does integrity mean to you? Today (02/10) marks the first day of Integrity Week, and we at NSCS are celebrating! Come share in our excitement by visiting us at our table on the second floor of the UC and by replying to this post what integrity means to you!

Join us on Thursday, November 21st for the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout. Stand up against smoking and promote national health with your fellow NSCS Eagles! We will be tabling on the 2nd floor of the UC from 10am-7pm, so come talk to us!

Nicholas is a Junior majoring in Bio and minoring in Econ. He’s a member of Red Cross club and Pre-Med Club. He’s a commuter student who volunteers at Heartland Hospice and Lloyd Moss Free Clinic. Last summer he went to the Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, and Red Rocks of Sedona.
Last, but not least, is our STAR status coordinator, Nicholas Maksimowicz!
Bethany is a senior majoring in psychology. She hopes to go to grad school for neuroscience to become a researcher. She interns with Brain Injury Services and is a computer lab aide in the psych department. She’s a member of Psi Chi, honor society and club for psychology majors.
