Using the UTXO set to calculate a bitcoin price Telegram: https://t.me/+qJA8nOuhtUVkN2Ux
🧵 BIG NEWS! We can now infer the daily price of Bitcoin within 1% accuracy by looking only at the unspent transaction output (UTXO) set. This paves the way for trust-minimized, decentralized finance on Bitcoin. Here's how... #UTXOracle

Bitcoin made @UTXOracle founder @SteveSimple drop everything. He says it still blows his mind—here’s why👇
As a reminder, UTXOracle does not reference any exchange price. It just looks at bitcoin transactions to infer what the price is. See how well it works 👇 cc @SteveSimple youtube.com/live/8Q-Wzl0BL…
He's done it again. Unbelievable! 👇

What blind oracles? Are they open-source? Why not use @UTXOracle, which is totally on-chain price oracle. Anyone will get nearly the same price from their own nodes.
My continued deep dive into the Bitcoin lending scene brings me to @lava_xyz, a company which I’m actually a seed investor in. Lava uses DLCs and a non-centralized set of “blind oracles” to minimize counterparty risk & risk of Oracle collusion. Launching soon in earnest, Lava…
@UTXOracle uses a stencil to find round USD output amounts without the need for a trusted oracle. It might be worth taking a look at it for 'easier' testing of this heuristic.

As @halfin had foreseen, we will have banks that are backed by #Bitcoin. To reduce the risk, I see people will deposit their $BTC into a bank in a form of multisig, 1 is for user, 1 is for the bank, and 1 is for neutral party like @UTXOracle. Semi-custodial solution.
Three months of decreasing USD denominated outputs on chain Bright yellow $100 tx line continually gets you less btc. Same for all other round USD lines

Looks like UTXOracle has confused the $50 and $100 lines today (Nov 8th), leading to a price that's 2x what it should be. Unless maybe the ETFs were approved just now :)
The consistency of the weekly cycle in bitcoin transactions makes me feel like bitcoin is already the true heartbeat of the world
