Echo the sentiments completely. The fact that there was just a mention in passing for coming second in one, and a whole shebang for getting to the "top" in another says a lot, not just an institution in particular, but the academia in general.
A respectful suggestion: if you think that the neo-liberal metricisation of higher education is a bad thing, stop amplifying it when your institution does “well”. There are no winners here, ultimately we all lose.
