#CANYONFIRE - Multiple Fixed and Rotor Wing aircraft are working to control the Canyon Fire near Piru. The fire is at least 30 acres per Watch Duty.
MADRE FIRE - As of July 4th, the Madre Fire was mapped at 70,800 acres and is 10% contained. It is also the largest fire in 2025 to date in California. This fire broke out just after 1pm on July 2nd west of New Cuyama. All photos were taken July 2, 2025. #MadreFire #VCStringer
SANTA PAULA - Firefighters knocked down a small brush fire that broke out just after 11am in the area of South Peck Rd and the Westbound 126 Freeway Overpass. #VCStringer
(5/1/25) Yesterday’s weather brought heavy rain, hail, and lightning across the Antelope Valley and the Northern Ventura County Mountains into Kern County. This was one of the many lightning strikes that flashed northwest of the Pine Mountain Club Thursday Evening. #VCStringer
#LagunaFire - Firefighters were able to stop the forward progress of the Laguna Fire that broke out shortly after 8:30am. The fire is estimated to be approximately 50 acres. The initial evacuation order at CSUCI has been downgraded to an evacuation warning. #VCStringer
On 1/7/25 at around 11:23pm, firefighters responded to a fire on the 1400 block of E Main St in Santa Paula. Multiple vehicles & storage units were reported to be involved according to the PIO of VCFD. Firefighters have gained the upper hand & knocked down the fire. #VCStringer
#FeliciaFire Update: According to VCFD PIO, the forward progress of the fire has been stopped. The fire is approximately 301 acres with 14% containment.

VAN NUYS (8/29/24) - Quebec 243 and 245 have arrived at Van Nuys Airport earlier today. These super scoopers are loaned to the LA County Fire Department from Quebec, Canada during fire season to help with fire suppression efforts.
(8/25/24) First responders were dispatched at approx. 12:24pm to a single-engine plane that crashed and was on fire on the 300 block of South 12th Street east of Santa Paula Airport. The pilot was airlifted to VCMC with critical injuries. No additional info available #VCStringer
(7/28/2024) MAFFS 1 lines up for a landing at Point Mugu NAS. Currently, MAFFS 1, 2, 6, and 8 are assisting with “slurry” drops at the #BorelFire in Kern County. #VCStringer
PLANE OVERTURNS AT CAMARILLO AIRPORT On 7/25/2024 at around 10:18am, units responded to an aircraft down at KCMA. Upon arrival, firefighters found the biplane on its roof a few feet off Runway 26. The solo occupant was out of the plane and was reportedly uninjured. #VCStringer
