Just heard from another family that we've partnered with and things are looking good. while just an observational study, kids are improving while on a drug that we discovered in a fly screen.
Okay now I'm really curious. How do people acquire a story-telling styles that keep people listening? Probably obvious to others but there's a style of pause and cadence that sticks. How do you know what sticks? And how do you adapt to it as a speaker?
Jim Collins' voice is so memorable. I'll never forget BU undergrad class, Signals and Systems, lectured by him. Every class I was very excited to listen and take notes. I think I may still even have that notebook.
On the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, let’s help girls everywhere pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math. Our world is better with their ideas and perspectives.
1) Your well-being must be your priority. It's easy to become so focused on the end goal that we sacrifice all to get there. But if you arrive at your destination as a hollow shell of who you are, you have missed the mark of building a better life in the very pursuit of it.

Affirmative action was never a complete answer in the drive towards a more just society. But for generations of students who had been systematically excluded from most of America’s key institutions—it gave us the chance to show we more than deserved a seat at the table. In the…
I wanted to share some of my thoughts on today's Supreme Court decision on affirmative action:
Since the discovery of CRISPR-Cas systems, people have wondered if a similar type of system exists in eukaryotes. Today, we report in @Nature the characterization of Fanzor, a eukaryotic RNA-guided system that can be reprogrammed for human genome editing. nature.com/articles/s4158…
My ancestors wildest dreams, my ancestors wildest dreams!
As a Ph.D. student, my income surpassed that of my parents combined. Although leaving them behind left me with a sense of guilt, it also filled me with pride to be able to help. As first-generation students, we often experience these conflicting emotions throughout our journey.
Additionally, this data is another reason why medical schools should feel morally OBLIGATED to ensure a more diverse pipeline of physicians. They should be investing in programs in low-income communities to ensure the physician population accurately represents the patient pop.
