I love how the NFL halftime show, twenty years or so after the infamous “wardrobe malfunction” that caused so much controversy, went with family themes like... ... stripper poles and bondage. What a country!

This can never be null, right? I ask because Unit Test Code Coverage with a target of 100% is, frankly, ridiculous. Unit tests can test most use cases, but unit tests can't be expected to test every crazy edge case, right? I mean, come on. Is that even realistic?

Seriously. I think JS may be in its “PHP Framework Wars” period. Huge, unnecessarily complex solutions to problems that don’t exist for most devs. And we all buy in because that’s where the Influencers say we should go. It was a bad idea then, and it’s a bad idea now.

Friend: "You can't call yourself an adult and then have two hostess cupcakes for dinner" Me: *shoves whole cupcake in mouth* "Watch me"

The world wide web has been around for nearly three decades and we still don't have a decent development tool-chain or framework. Three decades of trying to make a system designed for static content into an application platform and we're still not even close.

If we can get to where we can create layouts in #HTML as easy as it is in #XAML, then creating apps for the web might not suck so damn bad. I would guess that 80% of the time and pain is in layout, styling, and browser rendering issues.

I have more faith in this statement than just about anything else ever said.

Oh spare me the “cloud is unreliable” BS. I’ll use the analogy again. Airplane crashes (cloud) make the news because a lot of people die at once. Car crashes (on premises) don’t make the news because only one person dies. Show me an enterprise with the same uptime as cloud?

so, you avoid vendor lock-in by building your own. and then later realize you still have vendor lock-in, but you're the vendor, and there are no other customers. oops.

Focus on patching, administration, and backups instead of Chinese PLA 0days. Your CFO’s executive assistant has Adobe Acrobat 9. Finance is using Firefox 3.6. There are hotel kiosks in Moldova more hardened than your domain controllers. Welcome to being an adult, here’s the mop.
