We visited Lisburn Distillery for their game on Saturday. Interesting portrait of the great Bill McCracken hanging up in the clubhouse.
On Friday we watched Glentoran beat Portadown. A young Tommy Cassidy only played 14 games for them scoring 7 including a cup final hat trick before Newcastle snapped him up. Thanks to the club for the photos of him as both player and manager. Love the opponent wearing glasses!

Belfast football with Newcastle links planned this weekend. Friday night watching Tommy Cassidy’s first club Glentoran v Portadown. Saturday watching the great Bill McCracken’s first club Distillery v Moyola Park Sunday watching Willie McFaul’s first club Linfield at Cliftonville
Biggest difference for me today from previous seasons was watching our subs warm up. No Wissa, Hall or Livramento but when we needed to make a change it was really encouraging to see probably the strongest bench in many years. Competition for places continues to grow.

Just finished another great Memory Lane Stadium Tour. Bob Moncur, as always had some great stories. It was also my pleasure to show my oldest ever visitor, 102 year old Bob around the club. I thought it was only right that I got a photo of old Bob meeting young Bob.
Great to have a blast from the past Keith Barrett on my stadium tour this morning. I even stopped talking for 2 minutes and gave him the floor to read out his wonderful poem on John Alder
I wouldn’t say I generally have much time for Eddie Hearn, I can take him or leave him, but fair play to Matchroom. This is a really good series and fascinating insight into the working relationship he has built with Saudi Arabia

Thinking about the first time I saw the Red Arrows, late 60s early 70s at Exhibition Park. Great days as there were also two other displays on the ground. The White Helmets followed by an Alsatian running up and down a ramp, jumping through a hoop on fire and catching a burglar
