Looking up Old Church Road, Chingford, c1910. The hill up to All Saints (Old Church) was formally known as Big Church Hill. You can just see the collapsed nave of the church that occurred in 1904 due to neglect. The road was widened in the 1930s during redevelopment of the area.

Sculptor Don Potter was born #OTD 1902. He lived in Victoria Rd, Chingford from 1915-1920s, teaching wood carving at Gilwell Park. Our Lady of Grace & St Teresa RC church in Chingford features his carving 1956. 📸 OS map section 1920. Church by John Salmon is.gd/4lVbX1
