As the owner of a reactive dog, there are so many emotions that come with it- guilt, embarrassment, shame, fear, etc. Seeing an off leash dog on a hike is incredibly stressful for me and my pup. So glad to see a new study on this as I don’t think it’s talked about nearly enough!

DNA analyses of 2,155 purebred and mixed dogs from @darwinsarkfnd finds that on average, breed accounts for only about 9% of the variations in any given dog’s behavior. Therefore, authors suggest breed should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog.
