A big win for browser CSS performance and paving the way for native CSS import assertions!
Constructable stylesheets shipping in Firefox 101 🎉 Work on this started nearly 3 years ago but didn't ship while details of the spec were still reaching consensus. Sometimes the web takes time, but that's not a bad thing. Thanks Erik and @ecbos_! developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Moz…
One option is the Context API defined by the community protocol, details here: github.com/webcomponents-… There's an implementation of that coming soon for lit which I have helped develop. Another state management solution we use a lot at Adobe is lit-mobx: npmjs.com/package/@adobe…
📕 Use Web Components in Vue 2 and 3 + Composition API 👉🏻 This post will go over how to incorporate a Web Component into a Vue application. 👉🏻 Examples will include Vue versions 2 and 3, plus the Composition API. codeburst.io/use-web-compon…
Had some news on an internal web components related thing today. 3 years of effort working against the stream, finally knocking the last domino over and the path is now clear for a web components powered future at Adobe! Got that "I love it when a plan comes together" feeling!
Constructable Stylesheets are a new browser feature that Lit uses to render your styles, but what do they do? 🔎 Improve style loading control 🏎 Render blazing fast ⬇️ Dedupe style bytes 📦 Ready you for native CSS imports The best part for Lit users? You get it for free 🤯

Interesting thing learnt about wordle from Syntax podcast. it's entirely frontend using WebComponents, ~200kb package size, aws hosting cost is around $100 per month
Worlde, built with Web Components and the experience of vanilla JS
We had Josh Wardle, the CREATOR of Wordle on @syntaxfm! Super interesting story on how he coded it, scaled it, and eventually sold it to the New York Times. Listen → syntax.fm/show/430/creat…

✎ The client-side nature of web components has long made my progressive-enhancement-schooled self super uncomfortable. So I'm super excited to see efforts like this from @eleven_ty + @buildWithLit to server-render web components: bradfrost.com/blog/link/elev…

Eleventy + Lit
This is close to exactly what I've been wanting: a way to use web components like and have that card render as regular ol' HTML. a new plugin for Eleventy that renders your Lit components as static...
Shadow DOM, Web Components, WebExtensions and how @dashlane is leading on that front. With bits of yours truly inside. blog.dashlane.com/shadow-dom-bet…
"Shadow DOM makes styling harder for no benefit" Shadow DOM allows the author to create a native API for their component's CSS. Cory's gone over this quite a lot but some stuff I'd like to stress:
It fascinates me how we embrace the rigidity of TypeScript but, at the same time, we expect component styles to be a free for all.
📣 New: Render web components in 11ty! A new experimental Lit Labs plugin for @eleven_ty lets you render your Lit components to static HTML and hydrate them into fully-functional web components on the client. Give it a try: goo.gle/333EQvs

“The platform has finally given us a tool to solve [encapsulation], so it's worth taking the time to learn and understand it. Once you do, I'm certain you'll embrace it!” dev.to/claviska/a-web…
This is the most unique design system I've ever seen!! - web components instead of React - data-attributes instead of props - styles driven through native CSS and custom property design tokens - JS only used when absolutely necessary 🤯🤯🤯
The state of California has its own design system?! Holy cow, I love it. Also, this doesn't surprise me that CA did this. 😄 designsystem.webstandards.ca.gov

This system makes it easy to build digital services that meet the needs of Californians.
Shadow DOM? Light DOM? Slots? If you’ve heard of these but aren’t sure what they are, maybe this will clear things up! 👇
Funner and fact-ier... 🤔 at @Adobe we're actively expanding our use of @buildWithLit and Spectrum Web Components to more app surfaces; not just Photoshop, but Illustrator, Canvas, Express, and more! Sound exciting? Here's a new role you might check out: adobe.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/external_exper…
