We are seeing degraded performance on several servers and are investigating
IE6 users represent only a fraction of one percent of our traffic, and very rarely do they access sites that require SSL
We are in the process of disabling SSL 3.0 on our servers. The only anticipated effect is that users of IE6 will not be able to use SSL.

we've deployed a new database cluster to minimize the effect of aws restarts in the morning
There will be a XEN security vulnerability announced on Oct. 1, and they are patching everything in advance of the announcement.
We know this sucks, but it is out of our control, and part of the price of maintaining security.
Note that Amazon will be doing more reboots Saturday morning, so there may be a repeat of this morning's outages tomorrow.
