Philly doesn't crack the top 20, despite being much larger than almost all of these cities. I guess City Council is happy with the cost of rents and the size of our tax base.
If we're not going to make DC a state can we give them one congress member? Not even asking for a whole senator.

"... the Republican-controlled Pennsylvania State Senate seems to be motivated by pure cultural animus toward urban life." This party does not care about the economy or the well being of the people of PA. humantransit.org/2025/08/the-fa…
With SEPTA cuts looming—and 50,000 students relying on transit to get to school—is the school district still running the extremely stupid program paying parents $3,000/year to drive?
Going 15-20 over the speed limit in a city makes a crash more likely and effectively doubles the chance any pedestrian hit will die. Speeding in a city is like shooting into a crowd. Speeding should result in staggering fines, and repeated speeding in loss of license *and car*.
San Francisco, meanwhile: “best I can do is a $40 fine for going 119mph in a 20mph zone”
Right now on the El, the signs flash “Go @Phillies!” and the @Eagles remind you to stay behind the yellow line. Has @PhillyMayor called their owners to rally support for SEPTA? One phone call from either could probably swing a few Senate votes.
📰 The Philadelphia Inquirer said it best: "Three Philadelphia-area Republicans… voted for a deal soaked in contempt for their own constituents." SEPTA riders sold out. 700,000 Pennsylvanians left hanging. We will not forget. 🚆🚌 #PASDCC #SEPTA #PublicTransit
These cuts are brutal x.com/SEPTAPHILLY/st… @josephspicozzi how could you let this happen
New schedules reflecting service cuts due to a lack of additional state funding are now online: wwww.septa.org/fundingcrisis/…. The schedules are effective 8/24 for Bus & Metro and 9/2 for Regional Rail. On 9/1 fares will increase by 21.5%. #ISEPTAPHILLY #HowWeRoll #FundSEPTA
Call us crazy, but @SEPTA is actually a “good” investment because it lets people get to “work” on time and contribute “money” to the “economy”.
