This is not a discussion of whether leggings are pants but rather if this piece of fashion is an opportunity to discuss bigger political issues related to women's bodies in society and the cultural fault line that divides gender norms nytimes.com/2019/04/01/fas…

We are coming up on another month of radio silence from @AMCTheatres. I have not gone to see a movie at their theaters since bc of my annoyance and frustration. Went out of my way to see Wicked at another theater group.

DO NOT GIVE A GIFT CARD TO @AMCTheatres! I received a gift card and used it ONE TIME (approx $36 spent out of $100). Since then, the gift card balance has been reduced to $0 for charges made by someone else. I reached out Oct. 10 (8 weeks ago) and this has yet to be resolved.

April 3 - MLK Jr. rallied the people for the last time. The day he said he hoped for a long life - and the next day his would be cut short. He described the “inseparable twins” of racial & economic injustices. They are issues we are still fighting today nearly 60 years later.

"The masses of people are rising up. And wherever they are assembled today...the cry is always the same: 'We want to be free.'" Martin Luther King Jr gave his last speech, 'I’ve been to the mountaintop' #OnThisDay in 1968. King was murdered the day following the speech.

I review a lot of abstracts. Most people don't know how to write abstracts, and it's not their fault. Here's what I teach my doc students on what an abstract should cover: 1. What do we know 2. What don't we know 3. How we answer that question 4. What we find 5. Why it matters

Hey @AEJMC, can we have our annual conference in Boston one of these years? 2030 looks like a good year!

I still feel sad about this. I am still shocked by it.

On Jan. 22, 2008, actor Heath Ledger, age 28, was found dead of an accidental prescription overdose in a New York City apartment. Read more about what happened on this date: apnews.com/today-in-histo…

Hi friend! Elmo loves you. And Elmo will remind you every day if you need him to. ❤️

I really enjoyed this week's conversation with @BarbieHardnHall. She was so candid about how her experience of losing her child at 2 years old to a genetic disorder motivated her to run for office in order to help others get more access to services they need/deserve.

We asked @BarbieHardnHall for a piece of advice for women looking to get more involved in politics. Her answer: "We can't just fight for the sure thing." Hear more from the stay-at-home mom turned US House hopeful in this week's episode of The Pink State!

When @LaurenDFurey called me today she said this is a really great episode. I wholeheartedly agree. Two bias but ringing endorsements! So, go ahead, give it a listen. open.spotify.com/episode/5jZJey…

Election Day is just 7 days away! In today's episode, we talk to @BarbieHardnHall who is running for the U.S. House of Representatives for Florida, one of the 10 states where abortion is being challenged. She discusses the loss of a child, reproductive rights, and FL's hurricanes

For Ep. 4, we had an inspiring conversation with North Dakota House Rep. Jayme Davis. She is an indigenous American woman who is making a difference through her representation and story. She also provides an important lesson on how one voice can make a difference.

Alabama losing to Tennessee and Vanderbilt in the same season. Pretty sure that’s somewhere in Revelations in the Bible.

This is such a fun episode! I hope you all will take a listen because @NabeelaforIL was so inspirational (and positive)! She went down to GA to knock on doors for @ossoff and worked on a few local campaigns before launching her own at just 22 years old!

Episode 3 with @NabeelaforIL is out today! It is a great convo about her historic first run for office, her work in office over the past 2 years, and, of course, her favorite #TaylorSwift song(s). Listen now Spotify open.spotify.com/episode/4yLJ7v… Apple: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/mak…
