My answer will always be: The Hebrew Canon did not have enough books to keep Christ as the Messiah. The Councils of Carthage and of Trent affirmed the 73-book canon because it includes books (including additional ones of Daniel) which make the Church of Christ indisputable.
I realize you were talking about age. I'm making an analogy. I believe the Spirit guided me to accept 66 (possibly 67) not 73. You believe the Spirit guided you toward 73. How does that make sense?
