@ZeroProjectsCA
We tweet about business, SaaS and startups. We also help your early-stage company launch an MVP in as little as 4 weeks. Tweet at us to get started.
Continuous Deployment has deeper strategic implications than initially meet the eye. When @thedavidprice said that, my gut immediately said "Yes, that's right." We decided we'd keep our thoughts fresh for our listeners, and say no more about it until we got on the call.
Dear @HopeMarsMission, congratulations on arriving at Mars! In the words of the poet Al Mutanabbi: إذا غامَرْتَ في شَرَفٍ مَرُومِ فَلا تَقنَعْ بما دونَ النّجومِ (If you ventured in pursuit of glory, don’t be satisfied with less than the stars.)
This thread is going to document today's mob programming experience at @Mintbeanio We will use the pattern shown at remotemobprogramming.org, because it made the most sense for us (5 devs, all distributed) Will be updating this throughout the day. #agile #devlife #coding
Building #NoCode applications can be technically challenging. But product managing them is even harder. It's too easy to build a one-size-fits-all solution. The door is wide open. Don't try to be everyone to everything. Instead, clarify your vision and focus on your customer.
Has any NoCode platform successfully appealed to the average non-technical user? Has #NoCode successfully forded the gap from developers as users to true non-technical users? Or is the future some kind of "Unity for Web Development" which mainly appeals to devs?
A2) Some challenges include: - A lack of understanding - An investment in the tech from all parties involved - The experimental nature of the tech That being said, these are challenges faced by any new technology, don't write them off! #idgtechtalk
A1) AR and VR are both incredibly powerful tools. They can help with everything from product demos to meeting arrangement. The growth and development of these technologies shouldn't be overlooked when planning for the future! #idgtechtalk
A11) - Stay knowledgeable about your own business. - Keep an eye on your industry. - Be ready to pivot if need be. - Know your expenses! - Keep clear, well defined goals. - Network, network, network! #startupchats
A5 I'm very grateful for all the mentors and benefactors I've had in my career A mentor can show you where the water is, but can't make you drink. Only you can hone your own decisionmaking skills. Focus on the fundamentals and execute. @scotiabank @Startup_Canada #StartupChats
A7: Great question! Hyperfocus on sales from day 1, keep healthy margins and just forget about cost savings. Upside in sales is infinite while you can only reduce costs to 0 and no more. Cash flow is more easily managed by keeping healthy margins. @Startup_Canada #startupchats
A10 A startup should focus on sales, growth, customer happiness and retention, and building processes. Measuring/recording/balancing are important after a point -- but they're secondary to execution. @Scotiabank #StartupChats
A10) Make time for coalescing tasks and information, communicate clear guidelines to your team, and have clear goals in mind before starting a task. This helps keep everyone on the same page and on task, and helps ensure productivity. #startupchats
A11 Question everything, keep your wits about you, sleep often, and eat more vegetables. @Scotiabank #StartupChats
A9) Know your core business. If it isn't part of your skill set, or adding any value, outsource! Your team should be focused on what they're good at, hiring in-house for services that aren't necessary just raises costs and dilutes identity. #startupchats
A8) Understand the weak points in your business. Communicate openly and honestly with your people, and be willing to change things up. Gathering information about what needs to change is important, but if nothing is done to improve, you end up with frustration. #startupchats
A10 KPI are your key to success, don’t focus on vanity metrics. Tracking the data you are realizing and making adjustments along the way, can keep you on the right path. Set a baseline for these numbers as a reference and then start setting realistic goals. #StartupChats
A8 Here's how we at @ZeroProjectsCA handle culture: Employee happiness is a primary goal. We make many important decisions democratically. Employees craft large portions of their own jobs. Ownership is more important than productivity. @Scotiabank @Startup_Canada #StartupChats
A7) Understand your business, Where is the money flowing out. if you focus on sales from the outset, maintaining cash flow is easier if sales are up to scratch. trying to play catch-up will only lead to further costs! #startupchats
A8: Be positive! People are drawn to a positive atmosphere, happy employees will stay on board longer and be more productive. It's a win-win! #startupchats
A6) It all depends on risk, if the risk and reward are both high consider looking into grants or venture capital. If risk is low and rewards are high, there isn't much of a need for external investing, and you may be able to bootstrap it. A risk analysis is key! #startupchats
