It feels good to be back from the break and start the week with my evening shift.
The break is over and it was surprisingly productive. I solved a number of issues, despite the lingering reminder of past pain, I’m thankful for this November break.
I'm enjoying my time off by doing a whole lot of nothing today, just settling in with Netflix. I did take a moment to text an old friend I haven't spoken to in ages. It was a quick catch up, just asking how life was treating her and checking on her mom's condition.
Another rainy Sunday here offers a chance to consider the week that has passed and what lies ahead.
I just managed to carve out time to celebrate my 40th birthday on my own this evening. It’s been an incredibly busy week between my research and job and I’m savouring this time just for myself.
So, she's tying the knot today. I'm always praying for the best things to happen for her, even if she's only in my memories these days.
