Did not know they spun it into position - I love this bridge even more now

What ove arup considered his finest work. Kingsgate footbridge, Durham where 2 legs of the bridge are constructed on shore and swung into position and touch at the most elegant of expansion joints.

RIP Hopkins - whose understated, sober and more contextual high-tech felt very English, as if it grew from the Victorian machine obsession.

Great to work with Phil, especially on this featured project. Communication on the project was always easy as it was via a sketch, often abstract, but more lucid than verbal description could ever be

Excited to visit Mayfield, seems Manchester’s most transformational built environment project in years is not architectural at all

Surprising that not only are these buildings unlisted, but also have COIs blocking their listing in the future

There are currently two major postwar buildings named after Queen Elizabeth II with live Certificates of Immunity from listing, which new culture secretary @michelledonelan ought now to rethink. 1. Powell & Moya's splendid QEII Conference Centre, Westminster (1981-6)
