I welcome the Lib Dems' pledge to plant millions of trees. But it doesn't compensate for their poor climate policy. Their zero-by-2045 target ignores the science on how rich nations must reach zero by 2030 at latest. There's no point in voting for continued climate breakdown.

I was on #PoliticsLive yesterday debating the Tories' disastrous record of austerity, incompetent Brexit negotiations and welfare reform which has risen foodbank use and knife crime. We need to elect a Labour government, tax the rich and invest in communities. 🌹 📺

The Conservatives' 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 pause of fracking is an election stunt to try and win a few votes. Boris Johnson described fracking as ‘glorious news for humanity’. We cannot trust him. Labour would ban fracking. That's real change.

Labour: We're going to aggressively raise taxes on billionaires. People who make £24,000 a year

Repost di Lizard 🔻☭

There are 150 billionaires in the UK while 14 million people live in poverty. In a fair society there would be no billionaires and no one would live in poverty.

So the FT finally gets around to admitting that "green growth" is a myth and that we need #degrowth to achieve climate stability... but then asserts - without a shred of evidence - that degrowth is incompatible with wellbeing and democracy. ft.com/content/47b091…

Anyone calling for prosecutions should remember that traffickers only earn money because safe routes are being closed down by governments pandering to the hard right. There is blood on many hands. #HostileEnvironment theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/o…

Essex lorry deaths: how dangerous is the journey to the UK?

Who were the 39 people found in a lorry in Grays, and where were they travelling from?

The Climate Strike movement - and particularly XR as its leading force - need to stop with the apolitical crap. I’ll march with other socialists and communists of all kinds but to act like there is a solution in which capitalism’s reckless pursuit of profit can persist is lying.

My cousin and his wife died in April due to climate change. They fell through sea ice, that wasn’t supposed to melt for another two months. Climate change is real and directly effects modern day indigenous people trying to practice our cultural traditions.

This climate activist says Native voices and grievances can’t be ignored in the fight against the climate crisis

Selling socialism on the back of facsism isn't the fault of socialism...

The UK government tackling climate change with 5p plastic bags while still subsidising fossil fuels.

You don't get to opt out of politics. The left and right is a fence and those in the middle haven't surpassed the fence, they just haven't decided if facsism is worse than free healthcare
