Dear Parents—your child doesn’t need to be the smartest in the class, the best on the field, or the most talented in the room. But they do need to be teachable. We’ve raised a generation that can Google every answer, but too many are forgetting how to listen, respect, and learn.…

Wow! Just Wow! I feel your heart. ❤️

A message from a Kindergarten teacher: After forty years in the classroom, my career ended with one small sentence from a six-year-old: “My dad says people like you don’t matter anymore.” No sneer. No malice. Just quiet honesty — the kind that cuts deeper because it’s…

I totally agree, don’t use the word borrow in math🤣

This is, in my opinion, one of the most important skills in elementary math

One of my favorite posts of the year. Thank you for allowing kids to express their thinking and demonstrate their brilliance.

One of my students drew this today. He is 6. Zoom in.

This is the way!

Day 1: Taught students (approx 130 5th-8th graders) how to use mini-white boards today. Lots of practice, lots of purposeful questioning, lots of feedback. #constructive #routines #scienceoflearning #whiteboards #retrievalpractice

Students don’t need fidget spinners, yoga balls, mood monitors, or expensive devices and apps to learn. They need knowledgeable teachers, consistent routines, calm classrooms, good books, and unstructured recess. Way more recess.

Stop the testing at the elementary level that benefits the testing companies and those selling boring products to boost test scores

I’m hearing from ever more parents of primary school aged children that their children really don’t like school. They say that it’s boring, that they have to sit for long hours listening. Parents say that young children are taught things which they, their parents, have never…

So likely the world’s first Trillionaire Elon, who received $36 Billion in govt subsidies and contracts to generate his wealth, is telling the people who built this country what they can live without, as he giggles with his chain saw. Something ain’t right

Too many variables. An educated person would understand that.

It’s controversial because it doesn’t work, and has lots of unintended consequences. Merit pay has been tried for decades, with nothing to show for it. Feel free to look into the research yourself!

Steelers fans! Retweet if you are backing the Eagles today. Yes we’ve had our differences. They’ve called Sidney Crosby a whiny b*tch. Very bad. But they also cheered for Mario when he returned from cancer treatment. Commonwealth Unite! E-A-G-L-E-S. EAGLES! Chiefs 👎

The idea of loving in a hierarchy from family outward isn't supported by biblical teachings. Instead, Christianity emphasizes universal love: - Love Your Neighbor: Jesus teaches in Mark 12:31 to love your neighbor as yourself, without specifying degrees of love based on…

Hmm, is this what happens when test results are the end game instead of the literacy and numeracy skills needed to be successful in college or the work force?

25% of American high school students are functionally illiterate and innumerate. 40-60% of college freshmen need remedial math, English, or both. What exactly are we spending 12+ years of classroom education doing, if kids still need remedial work at the end?
