I’ll repost just in case. I don’t think YouTube is removing them though, and they actually made a custom captions change I requested recently. They’ve been having crashing issues I assume they are trying to fix? Hopefully, it’s an amazing feature that is underutilized.

I Animated This Entire Video using ONLY Subtitles
seems like even trying to use Google API YouTube v3 denies uploading ytt/SRV3 captions now :(

IMPORTANT UPDATE: YouTube is SLOWLY DELETING all custom subtitles. My proudest creation and even huge companies/creators are having their subtitles totally gone, Including Hololive. @YouTube Please revert this, as more and more subtitles get removed, more people will speak up.
For those impacted by the upcoming loss of YTT/SRV3 captions, there is a small alternative in NekoCap, an extension to allow YouTube to play .ASS captions uploaded by the community. I'll be adding all the captions I can to there. nekocap.com

In Towa's Palette, there's a part where the MV explodes into color, and the subtitles do as well. The subtitles for this song were just removed for the crime of not conforming to @YouTube's arbitrarily changing standards. Many more songs may be affected if this is not reversed.
