People expect films to feel like books or comics with their style/detail of explanation. Film is a completely different art, a different language. Just because something isn't stated, doesn't mean it isn't said. It doesn't lack depth just because you don't know how to see it.

Everyone talks about TDK, but The Dark Knight Rises (2012) is the one that keeps pulling you back in. It’s operatic & emotional in a way CBM rarely are. Even Christopher Nolan called it the film where he finally said everything he wanted to about Batman.
