The Boys subreddit is chaos right now. Threads getting locked, users rage-deleting whole accounts. It’s amazing. Right-wing users are whining about “no politics,” but it’s impossible to talk about the show without them now. Fans who thought Homelander was cool are in a meltdown.

I wasn’t born in Lebanon but as a first generation Lebanese-American, I wasn’t spared all the trauma. We would go back to visit often but the summer of 2006 almost ended us and I now know the feeling of warplanes overhead and my skin crawls when a plane flies low.

Board games, sunsets, candles. What may seem mundane to you are sources of trauma for the survivors of Lebanon’s civil war, now adults w/their own families. I remember sheltering in our bathroom during shelling, playing Monopoly. I now hate Monopoly: nytimes.com/2022/01/15/wor…

12 years ago I starting tweeting. Twitter actually became my customer and I didn’t know a thing about the service because I didn’t think I’d “do it right”. Anyway, great service, cool method of expression, and happy I participated in them being successful.

Nowhere near what this super human experienced but I remember being on the ground during a war (Lebanon 2006), woken up by drones at night, sonic booms from jets, gunfire, explosions, panic, fear. It fucking sucks. Don’t hope for it or wish it on anyone.

1/ I’ve been to war, twice. Iraq in ‘09 and Afghanistan in 2011. I am just a fucking ER doc. But it was there, in the deserts far,far from home, that I made my bones as a newly board certified ER doc. It is around that time, I think that I lost my capacity to feel joy.

Can anyone who has seen Casino eat a blueberry muffin without checking other blueberry muffins in the vacinity for blueberry count?

My latest: Japanese smartphone game developers are threatened by Chinese rivals as they take more risk and have larger budget. Japanese game fans are welcoming made-in-China games, maybe without knowing where they are from. Will that happen in U.S., too? wsj.com/articles/chine…

I’d love to see the C’s pull off a move for someone like Tristan Thompson. He doesn’t have to be great, just better than average.

Here's the play where Grant Williams said he really felt the crowd. He got the offensive rebound, found Jayson Tatum in the corner, and then started running down the court: "I was like, ‘It’s going in, like, please let this happen.’ I’ve seen the guys do it on TV.”
