Every client meeting ever: “Why does my website not rank on the first position in SERP?” Share your reaction with a GIF in the comments.
Woh. Anyone else getting emails like this from GSC?
This is what happens when you don’t spend the time to write META descriptions. Google will pull copy from the page. In this instance, a negative product review. “No one in my house will drink it” isn’t too great as a product description in the SERPs! #SEO #SEOChat
Google calls out duplicate content and says it’s bad. But that’s essentially what featured snippets do - steal your content and steal your clicks. Great for solving user intent, bad for business.
To me, the search contract was always "we let you crawl, you send us traffic if our results are valuable to searchers." Now it's "you have no choice but to let us crawl+copy your whole site & display it in our results and not send you any traffic, whatcha gonna do 'bout it?!"
When you eventually catch up on all your emails, blink, then another 50 appear.
Trust me. Nobody is as successful as Instagram makes them look and nobody is as pretty as filters make them seem. The only healthy and worthwhile comparison is you yesterday vs you today. Focus on that.
"To be successful, you have to have your heart in your business, and your business in your heart." Thomas Watson, Sr.
E-commerce brands with “add to cart” buttons on products within the category pages. Who on earth would add items to cart without reading the product descriptions? Has anyone done any testing on this? Assume they’re pretty much pointless.
Removing low value (low quality, out of date, non-useful) pages from your site can have a positive SEO impact. They can have a positive business impact, too, as people will be less likely to associate your brand with "meh" quality materials - via animalz.co/blog/content-p…
