First landing for Voloshin! And in what hands! People, you know I don’t ask for much. Do me a favor: get a copy. It’s my pride and joy.

In the mail: very excited to see ARC of 'Sidetracked: Exile in Hollywood', a "mock epic" (yes, it's in verse !), by Alexander Voloshin (tr. @BorisDralyuk), coming from @PaulDryBooks (4/2026) pauldrybooks.com/products/sidet…

Philly! I am excited to bring Evgenia Nekrasova to our fair city to talk about folklore in contemporary Russian literature. I’ll be reading some of my translations of her magically pessimist tales as well. Please come, dress on theme if you like, bring friends & nemeses🖤📚

Duke lapped up SoCal beach culture in the ‘60s! His take on the place is playful yet poignant, and utterly refreshing. I feel even the cut-rate Ginsbergs of Venice West would have appreciated this surprisingly sympathetic depiction of their squalid scene. Get the book!
