To achieve truly generalizable robots, we need to solve the dexterity problem. And it’s time to come clean: that’s what @sirwart and I have been working on Here's a look at continuous autonomous in-hand manipulation on our (very) early prototype hardware. I won't lie, hands…

Introducing Tetra Dynamics. We’re building robots that can perform dextrous manipulation autonomously. Here’s 7 minutes of our hand putting the block into the box using in-hand manipulation.

Figure just highlighted fingertip design as one of their major improvements, and it’s a massively underrated & overlooked part for robotic hands. Im happy they (and others) are now calling it out. Just because something “looks like” a hand/finger/finger tip doesnt mean it will…

Ok Onshape - what is the difference between apply and save here They both do the same thing no?

Well put

Every week, another batch of robot data startups appears, selling payload dirt in a gold rush. But the market dynamics that created Scale and Surge don’t exist yet in robotics. Most naive robot trajectories are literally useless, quality is far more important than quantity.

The funny thing about this post is the large amount of replies from people who havent worked on robotic hands Palm camera is incredibly useful - especially since you dont have touch capability surrounding the entire hand and will get you to doing useful tasks today, not some…

The Figure 03 hand has a camera in the palm. It's unclear whether the fingers have tactile sensing.

Reminder that it’s also sf manufacturing week Doing 2 factory tours today Beers with the boys on friday Its a good week

next factory friday is at @poseidonaero HQ if you're in san francisco and like manufacturing, hardware or beer I'll see you there 🍻 luma.com/10i87gse

Seems like every week you hear news of a giant humanoid order by a Chinese facility but have yet to see one actually produce real world value in any environment yet If the unitrees arent doing any real work yet, feels like the others wont be either

UBTECH appears to be at the forefront of the commercialization of humanoid robots. UBTECH recently announced a $4.21 million (30 million RMB) order for humanoid robots from MIRACLE AUTOMATION, with delivery scheduled for December 31st of this year. To date, UBTECH's Walker…
