The winner of Book of the Year: Fiction (supported by @GHmagazine) is the incredibly powerful BABEL by @kuangrf! The judges were all in agreement that this was an "event book" of 2022! @HarperVoyagerUK #BritishBookAwards #Nibbies

29th December 2022.  Vivienne Westwood died today, peacefully and surrounded by her family, in Clapham, South London. The world needs people like Vivienne to make a change for the better.

Since it's October, I've got a #Halloweenbookrec: CARMILLA by Sheridan Le Fanu, specifically the edition edited by Carmen Maria Machado. For all things spooky, spellbinding, & sapphic amidst a hauntingly gorgeous and gothic setting, this tale that precedes Dracula is perfect.

Where I am currently (Oxford), just a few centuries in the past

If you were transported to the setting of the book you're currently reading, where would you be?

Life moves fast—one day you're a cool youth and then before you know it, you're gasping at the sight of a Le Creuset in a color you have never seen before.

“i closed my book to be here” is the highest compliment you can receive from a reader

finished @kuangrf ‘s Babel this afternoon and will be reading my advanced digital copy of House of Hunger once I’m finished spiraling. please keep me in your thoughts.

oh goodness. this was the first thing i saw this morning and now i am very emotional.

@kuangrf, students of the Columbia Publishing Course at Oxford University (Exeter) all picked up copies of BABEL & have been absolutely devouring it. Brilliant story set in a wondrous city. Thanks for the book (and the delightful references)!
