Great talk. I remember 10+ years ago or so, I attended a talk at gdc by the sims programming team about their data driven engine and it was so fundamental to a shift in my thinking as a programmer back then.

This feels so fluid and natural.
Hyped for 2025! Every year I focus on a few personal game dev goals. 2024 was focused on learning Godot, deeper dives in Unreal and making my own Action game framework. This year am focused on getting back to C++, Game AI and experiments in pushing boundaries in combat in games.
Playing a lightning sorc in poe2 and it expresses every version of that D2 fantasy I have been looking for - chain lightnings, sparks, lightning from the sky, orbs of lightning, teleports etc. So well executed!
As brutal as this is, it would make a great video game :)
Playtested it this week and the game is legit. If you love TCGs like I do, this is worth keeping an eye on!
