PlanetScale Postgres is now GA! I sat down with CEO @isamlambert to talk about it all: scaling MySQL with Vitess, PlanetScale Metal, and now PlanetScale Postgres. We covered a lot of good ground in this one, and there's a bit of a surprise at the end!

I've never resonated so hard with a podcast in my life.

102: Vision Quest mostlytechnical.com/episodes/102-v… Ian and @aarondfrancis talk about Aaron's recent "Vision Quest", accidentally inventing transcendental meditation, realizing he's addicted to Twitter, and the reaction he got online.  Plus Ian went to Philly to play poker & more 🃏

The new Laravel Forge is indeed that good

New Laravel Forge is ridiculous. It's like a decade+ leap in improvements, from UI to the ability to spin up a VPS in seconds. Control + ` anywhere in the UI opens an SSH shell into the server. Are you kidding me?! How much easier could it get? Incredible work 👏

In case you ever wonder who *really* runs Try Hard Studios, it's Kelsey. Kelsey runs it

After paying a lot of one-time invoices, I’ve realized one thing: contractors should make it easy for clients to pay them. Include a Stripe Link or ACH details on the invoice. Zelle, PayPal, etc. sound convenient, but they usually add too much friction for the client. We now…

Today we have not one, but two exciting announcements for the @tursodatabase beta week: 1) Turso runs *natively* in the browser. 2) Turso dbs can be synced, with conflict resolution, to/from anywhere. Turso will put databases everywhere. Nothing screams *everywhere* more than…

It's Friday, so I want to share one of the most fun projects I've ever worked on. A few years ago, I built four eight-foot-long handwriting robots. We wrote many thousands and thousands of addresses on our direct mail, and wrote personal messages for high value prospects.

Day one of my new way of working was a success! I blocked the internet all morning, spent the time writing, and then turned down an opportunity so I could focus on my own projects. Feeling optimistic

“…but I think the bigger despair is having lots of good things going and not completing them to their fullest. I can’t do everything, but I can do a few things really well.” I relate to this so so well.
