Exercise books do not exist to prove that you, the teacher, have been doing any particular thing. Exercise books exist for pupils to write in, to practise, to help them think. That is all.

A good learning atmosphere is key... but how do you know what one looks like? Is it class dependent? Is it related to students dependent? Or is it teacher dependent? #emmamcrea #mathsteach

I hadn't thought of subtraction as addition of the additive inverse before. Thanks to @EmathsUK and @LaSalleEd for a fantastic training day last month. #mastery

Each time you re-read a chapter from @mrbartonmaths ‘How I wish I’d Taught Maths’ you find a new hidden gem and can relate so many things to personal experiences #mathsteach #edutwitter #brillantread

Good luck to all A-Level students today! Whatever follows college I hope you can follow the path you have chosen

The summer is the time to reflect refresh and reset! Well done teachers #enjoythesummer #mathsteach #edutwitter

The biggest mistake a teacher can make over the summer is working #restupteachers #startbackrefreshed #mathsteach

Students needs a healthy combination of success and failure, without failure you are unable to succeed yet without success students only feel like they will always fail #resilience #mathsteach #secondaryschool

🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️Pseudo-Pedagogy🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️ ‘No Hands Up‘ It doesn’t have to be a policy. Just because their hands are up doesn’t mean you have to ask them. Maintain a thirst for learning & use professional & skilled judgement to question. I banish you to Pseudo-Pedagogy Classroom 101! 🤮👋

Reached the end of your schools scheme of work? Why not try enrichments task like the chicken, the fox and the corn with a farmer crossing the river? How strong is their multiplications? Introduce speed calculations and challenge them to compete against each other?

Page 20 of Practising Mathematics. Am I missing something here? I can't understand how to work this out... If someone picked 8 and 12 the HCF is 4 and LCF is 1, which sum to 5. But it's the same if they picked 4 and 16. Help please! @ATMMathematics

The biggest difficulty with teaching late in this term is developing their knowledge with “fun” activities can often reduce their learning capability? What do you think?

Interesting read but I am not entirely convinced how this would firstly be put into action and how manageable it is long term?!

Amazing website desmos.com for graphing! Middle set 9 spent ages trying to find the equation of a circle #mathsteach #edutwitter #equationofgraphs

Currently created worksheets for a range of Triangle Pythagoras, Trig and further Trig with both 2D and 3D questions. The challenge is making questions challenging yet accessible... as well as enough progression without big step changes #mathsteach #worksheets
