Exercise books do not exist to prove that you, the teacher, have been doing any particular thing. Exercise books exist for pupils to write in, to practise, to help them think. That is all.

Page 20 of Practising Mathematics. Am I missing something here? I can't understand how to work this out... If someone picked 8 and 12 the HCF is 4 and LCF is 1, which sum to 5. But it's the same if they picked 4 and 16. Help please! @ATMMathematics
