Tell me again how important all those learning gaps are if we are not taking care of the socio-emotional + mental health needs of all of the kids. Room for connection, joy, rest, creativity, fun. We can't do anything w/o this, and we see the consequences if we don't. (we=schools)
I think the most frustrating part for me about being a teacher right now is that the school system is like, “You need to change everything about what you do.” And when we’re like, “Can you maybe change a little bit to help us?” They’re like, “Lol. Don’t be stupid.”
