While supply gaps for some critical minerals are narrowing, key risks remain Investment momentum in critical minerals has weakened recently & export restrictions are on the rise Without further action, copper could see a 30% supply shortfall by 2035 👉 iea.li/3ZVJYMv

“They cut speed limits, changed street design, removed space for cars…Now it appears that work is paying off. #Oslo & #Helsinki are reaping the rewards of committed action on making their roads safer, reducing pedestrian fatalities to zero last year.” theguardian.com/world/2020/mar…
K-8 students who live within ONE MILE: in 1969, 89% walked or biked to school. in 2009, 13% walked or biked to school. That suggests parenting culture plays a much larger role than car culture. Or parenting culture IS car culture.

Had a nice meal at Nook on Yew last weekend outside on their sidewalk patio…was thinking how cool it would be if that whole block was closed to cars. Massive patios on both sides of the street. Would be so incredible, so signature block for the city!

The consensus Bear in base metals and especially copper has gotten to a point that I feel a need to knock out a counterpoint, with the disclosure that my money as of the past few weeks is *heavily* where my mouth is, so yes I am talking my book - bias galore. A thread 🧵 1/

It's Survey Sunday! Today we're filling out a survey about cycling infrastructure through Kitsilano Beach. There are a few VERY VOCAL anti-bike contributors whose opinions need some counter-balancing. shapeyourcity.ca/kits-beach-gre…

What's up @CityofVancouver? This was a popular and welcome change to the area. Traffic had adapted and people were enjoying the space.
The fact that this country has not come to a standstill after finding a mass grave of children means we need to come to standstill to try to absorb what that says about us.
It would really be a tragedy if this awesome little space was given back to cars after the pandemic. 90% of the car traffic in this block is just people circling around looking for parking. This space is so much more valuable as a little pedestrian plaza.
. "...if all you have is a car, everything looks like a road." It's time we accepted and built an urban environment not dictated by myopic car culture. #vanpoli toronto.com/opinion-story/…
