I have just arrived in Brisbane and will depart for PNG just after lunch.

Am aboard my flight to Singapore.

I hope to have my trip report posted on the web site very shortly.

I'm on the train to the airport. Everything has gone gone exceedingly well. It has been a wonderful holiday.

Have arrived safely back in Munich. Need to repack my gear and then head to the airport. My flight doesn't leave for 5 hours - so no rush.

Only 150km from Munich, but it is getting colder now - only 11 degrees.

Have left Haage and am on my way to Munich. Only 450km to go. Weather is mild - 18 degrees. So far no rain.

I have arrived safely in Haale (near Berlin) despite riding through rain and snow all day. I travelled 14km short of 1000km today.

More adventures - the alternate route I choose went through the Hohe Tauern mountains also, with heavy snowfalls.

I have no regrets about not taking the Hochalpenstrasse - I will need to come back with Rebecca sometime.

It is snowing a little, so will take other route. Currently the Hochalpenstrasse requires chains. Have seen enough alpine roads and snow.

I am at the start of the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse, but the weather means that other will open in 2.5 hours at the earliest.

I am staying in Heiligenblut (closest town near the Grossglockner) mountain tonight.

It is 7.5 degrees Celsius and it is snowing. Weird. It has neen snowing on and off all day - fluffy flakes that just swirl around.

I had to backtrack today, because there was too much snow on the Füelapass. So I went on the train instead.

It has been snowing gently for the past half an hour. But the roads are clear, so I am heading off shortly.

It snowed last night. I got up at 5am to take photos. Absolutely beautiful.

I am spending the night in Kloster (near Davos), a very pretty village near the snow line. The view from my room is amazing.

I'm having a wonderful time. Am eating Rosti overlooking the Walensee and snow capped mountains.

I just had a look at the world famous Rhein Falls. They are very majestic.
