I am so excited for PLDI 2024 this year! We are organizing a hands-on tutorial on BuildIt on the 24th where we will show how to create your own high-performance DSLs and generate CPU/GPU code. If you are attending, please attend or just come and say hi! buildit.so/tutorial

Some exciting news! I defended by PhD thesis on June 4th! Here's a recording of the defense in case you are interested in hearing about how we can make high-performance compiler technology accessible to domain experts! youtube.com/watch?v=dzku2W…

I don't like the idea of VMs or docker for artifacts in general unless absolutely necessary. I believe artifacts serve a dual purpose. Besides reproducing data in the paper, they act as a resource for other folks trying to build on top of the research. ...

I don't think VMs for Coq artifacts are very useful.

MIT researchers created “BuildIt”, a tool for non-compiler experts to easily create languages to solve performance intensive problems. “D2X” automatically retrofits existing debuggers for the new languages: bit.ly/41j1Wql

I don't think systems research will hit a wall anytime soon. We have working systems but every one in the field knows the limitations. There will always be creative ways to improve on these limitations. What do you think?
