I don't like the idea of VMs or docker for artifacts in general unless absolutely necessary. I believe artifacts serve a dual purpose. Besides reproducing data in the paper, they act as a resource for other folks trying to build on top of the research. ...
I don't think VMs for Coq artifacts are very useful.
I don't have everything in life, but I definitely have the satisfaction of having taught some really great students ❤️

MIT researchers created “BuildIt”, a tool for non-compiler experts to easily create languages to solve performance intensive problems. “D2X” automatically retrofits existing debuggers for the new languages: bit.ly/41j1Wql
I don't think systems research will hit a wall anytime soon. We have working systems but every one in the field knows the limitations. There will always be creative ways to improve on these limitations. What do you think?
