I’m 26. I’ve been building software for the last five years, while working in big tech. My failures and mistakes have taught me valuable lessons about: • Building a team • Executing a mission • Turning an idea into reality It’s all been leading up to now:

My failures and mistakes have taught me valuable lessons about:

• Building a team
• Executing a mission
• Turning an idea into reality

It’s all been leading up to now:

Day ~24 (I skipped a few days 🤫) of building a 6-figure IOS app: App Store has approved my app for distribution 🥳 Time to start marketing!

Day 23 of building a 6-figure IOS app: • Worked on a bunch of speed optimisations to improve UX Whenever you build a product it’s really important to start with core functionality and go from there It’s ugly but it’s 80-90% of the work to get users their desired outcome

Day 22 of building a 6-figure IOS app: • Found a new preprocessing model that’s faster and cheaper • Still need to work out how to get it to output what I need Only had ~1 hr to build today

Day 21 of building a 6-figure IOS app: • Got free credits from a leading AI GPU and inference platform (don’t be afraid to enquire!) • I have chosen a replicate model that will allows users >3X requests for the same $. If I self host in the future this could be much more

Day 20 of building a 6-figure IOS app: I spent the whole day researching the AI inference & GPU server landscape There are so many interesting companies! But everything comes with trade offs between usage, speed and cost 😭 This will take at least another day to finish…

Day 19 of building a 6-figure IOS app: I'm getting there 🏃 Today I: • Recorded and edited demo video (canva + capcut) • Fixed a couple errors • Set up products in dev portal & connected to superwall • Enrolled in the app store small business program

• Enrolled in the app store small business program

Day 18 of building a 6-figure IOS app: • Formalised onboarding • Made all share options work (instagram, sms, native share, copy/paste) • Created simple landing page, purchased and connected custom URL and added terms & privacy pages • Finished settings page Whew! ⚡️

Why can’t you beat someone who works 7 days a week on their craft? 1.) It’s all they think about 2.) They have enough time in 1wk to fail, pick themself up again and try again 3.) Even if they take a holiday, it clears their mind so they perform even better when they return

Day 17 of building a 6-figure IOS app: • Adjusted onboarding questions to better fit problem/solution utility of app I provide a more tailored, professional experience than competitors and use a hard paywall. So must nail the experience to get a good conversion rate!

My to do list for the next few days as I build a six-figure IOS app

Day 16 of building a 6-figure IOS app: Productive day finishing off main features of the app incl. superwall pages While working I really felt the challenge (& pain as a perfectionist) of doing the minimum needed for MVP and not getting sidetracked Builders take full ownership

Day 15 of building a 6-figure IOS app: • Today I worked on the foundational UI/UX experience after user request is sent to replicate AI model & finished a new feature • As it can take time to return output, I had to design the loading state carefully to keep the user happy

Day 14 of building a 6-figure IOS app: • Today I found the first set of images to use for items in the app. • I also improved the review/share page design. I’ve been less productive than usual because I had to focus on other work but I’ll try to get more done tonight

Over the past few months I’ve been continually surprised and impressed with @elonmusk’s transformation of X. The Grok app has also been executed very well. A skeptic at first, I now look forward to seeing how Elon continues to innovate on B2C software post-Tesla and SpaceX

Understanding and preventing misalignment generalization Recent work has shown that a language model trained to produce insecure computer code can become broadly “misaligned.” This surprising effect is called “emergent misalignment.” We studied why this happens. Through this…
