If you pop out, even to grab a towel, and your child goes under the water, you won’t hear it. Drowning is silent. And can happen very quickly. Please keep your baby or young child within arm’s reach when they’re in the bath. 👉 Top tips to stay safe: capt.org.uk/safe-baby-bath…

The 4th message of #BabyCommunicationWeek24, that we believe every parent should hear is this: YOU are everything your baby needs. Within their parent, or other primary caregiver, a baby finds comfort, regulation, safety, play, exploration and joy. ❤️ #UnderstandAffirmNurture

It's Day 2 of #BabyCommunicationWeek24 and our message for new parents and carers is this: There's no need to compare your baby with other babies. Even from birth, your newborn is already an individual with a unique little character - and that's something to celebrate! 🥳

What did parents think would help reduce their feelings of loneliness in the first 1001 days? Part 1 of 3: We need to shift towards a family friendly society. The resultant changes would make it easier for parents to get out and about and reduce their isolation and loneliness.

If only we had a highly skilled workforce with sufficient capacity to support all families🤷🏻‍♀️#healthvisiting Evidence is clear-most parents want to do the very best for their children Lack of support in the earliest years & systemic obesogenic environmental factors need addressing

Peter Fleming, professor of infant health and developmental physiology at the @BristolUni, said: 'It's not unheard of for babies as young as six months to be severely obese because their parents often start giving them solids too soon.' kinsq.org/3W6n2c9 @DailyMail

The two best places to check your baby isn’t getting too hot: (1) chest (2) back of the neck. If baby’s skin is hot or sweaty here, remove a layer of bedding or clothing. You don’t need to worry if their hands and/or feet are cooler – this is normal for babies.

In an emergency, you may not have access to a cot or Moses basket. If you have a pram carrycot or travel cot, these are good alternatives because they are still firm and flat. For more advice about safer sleep in emergency situations, download our guide: bit.ly/44TJExz
